Once a writer is finished with prewriting, drafting, revising, and editing, he or she can publish their work. Publishing is the final stage of the writing process. For many writers, this is the most exciting part of the writing process because they finally get a chance to share their writing with their audience! There are many different ways to publish and share writing with others. Writing can be published in print such as in a magazine, newspaper, newsletter, or book. Writing can also be published online such as on a blog or website. What writers publish is their final work, the final product of the writing process. The goal of this stage of the writing process is to share writing with readers, so they can enjoy what the author has written. No matter where the writing is published, the author should share their work with readers and hear their feedback. Authors can also share their published work by reading it out loud during Author’s Chair in class or by reading what they have written to family members or friends at home.
